This morning we did something different. Blame it on my not having gone grocery shopping in quite a while, or just as an excuse to get out of the house for something other than work, but breakfast needed to be had, and since we were right out of cereal and eggs, we hopped on the motorbike and headed down to Sant Antoni. Not the usual haunt for us, as it´s all the way on the other side of town, but Calle Parlament beckoned, and with hungry stomachs we found ourselves at one of the many cute cafe´s that line the street.
Little sister to Cosmo Gallery, Cafe Cometa is super cute, and you can certainly see the influence that Cosmo had on the design. Bright, airy, hints of pastel, and many nods to illustrators and artists from around the world. The menu is the same as Cosmo, if not, similar, but I was very happy with my brekkie: toast, muesli and yogurt.
When we finished up, we crossed over the road on the way back to the bike, and decided to round off our morning with a coffee at Taranna, as I had been hearing whisperings of things about the cafe, and since were in the neighbourhood… why not throw in a bit of mid morning cafe hopping. A darker, more grown up cafe with complimentary greens, greys and white tiles, it was a moody spot to sip on a Cafe Americano, the steam coiling through the sprigs of eucalyptus leaves on each table. Larger than Cometa, we had our choice of seats, and although it was a bit early, the lunchtime plates sounded great, and on a full stomach that says something!
